The Opportunity
SingleFile came to us as their product began to outgrow itself.
What started as a focused tool had expanded to support more users, workflows, and complexity. While the technical foundation was strong, the experience lacked consistency, making it harder for users to navigate and complete tasks efficiently. They needed a clearer, more structured experience that could support both simple and complex compliance workflows without adding friction.

Defining our MVP

We embedded with SingleFile's product team to audit, systematize, and redesign the core platform experience across two distinct user journeys.

Conducted a design audit of the existing platform
Identifying inconsistencies in colour, hierarchy, error states, and navigation that were compounding across the user flows.
Established an accessible, consistent design system
Including colour contrast standards, alert typologies, and reusable UI components — that could be applied across the platform and scaled as new features were added.
Redesigned key filing workflows
Reducing the cognitive load of multi-step compliance with automated form completion and document-powered auto‑fill. 
Introduced key insights dashboard views
Users could orient quickly, understand filing status at a glance, and spend less time hunting for what to do next.

The design system gave SingleFile's engineering team a shared, reliable foundation — reducing design debt and making it faster to ship new features consistently.

Simpler compliance workflows

Streamlined filing flows reduced the steps between landing on the platform and completing an action, for both large firms managing multiple entities as well as individual companies often filing just once a year.

Shorter, more confident visits

With clearer hierarchy, accessible error states, a consolidated dashboard view, and repetitive tasks automated, users could get in, understand their landscape, complete outstanding tasks, and get out — without needing support.
